All the Civil Officers are more or less tainted with secession, and many of the people do not conceal their determination to prevent the formation of companies in this county. We are expecting disturbances on this account on the coming 27th inst. The Democrats of this place have called a meeting, and have passed a resolution pledging to prevent an invasion on the South by the North. At this time, would it not be well to have all the Officers to take the oath to stand by the Constitution, or give place to those who will do so. The supporters of the government form a small but respectable minority here; come what will, they wish to see the Stars and Stripes forever floating in the breese as their country's flag.
