&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;H. West Guardian of the Infant heirs of the
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;late Nehemiah Calkins, deceased, respectfully
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;sheweth. That Nehemiah Calkins late of the
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;County of Morgan and State of Illinois de
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;parted this life sometime in the year 183[3?]
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;lying &amp;amp; being in the County &amp;amp; State aforesaid
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;seised of the following tracts of Land, situated
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;lying &amp;amp; being in the County &amp;amp; State aforesaid viz
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Lots No. 28, 29, 30 and part of 66 of the Orig
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;inal Plat of the Town of Jacksonville, and the
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;W 1/2 of S.E. Qu of Sec 29, Town 14 N. R. 9 W. Con
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;taining 80 acres. The S 1/2 of W 1/2 of N. E. Qu of
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Sec 7 Town 13 N. R. 9 W. Containing 40 acres.
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;and a part of the W 1/2 of the S.E. Qu of Sec 9
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Town 15 N. R. 10 W. containing 10 acres and also
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Lot No 34 in Sec No 16 Town 15 N. R. 10 W.
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;containing 5 acres. Your petitioner would fur
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;ther represent that he was appointed by the Judge
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;of Probate of Morgan County administrator of the
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;personal Estate of the said Nehemiah Calkins,
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;deceased, and that as administrator aforesaid
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;he has satisfied all of the demands that have
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;been presented against said Estate, and has made
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;a final settlement of the same with the Judge
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;of Probate, without resorting to the Real Estate.
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The debts of said Estate being paid, the above
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;described real Estate as your petitioner conceives
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;hr /&gt;
&lt;p&gt;belongs to the heirs of the deceased, after setting
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;apart the widows dower. The heirs of the said
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Calkins are Silas Calkins, Mary Jane Calkins,
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Samuel Calkins, and Sarah Ann Calkins,
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;all of whom are Infants, and for whom your
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;petitioner has been duly appointed Guardian,
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;and being mindful of the responsibility impos
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;ed  on him as Guardian of said Infant heirs
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;he is clearly of the opinion that their interests
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;and the interests of each of them respectively would
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;be promoted by a partition of said real Estate
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;among them by metes and bounds equally accor
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;ding to law and would therefore pray that there
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;may be Commifsioners appointed by this Honorable
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Court at the present Term to examine said
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;premises, and make such a partition among the
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;parties as justice to each would require and
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;to report the result to the next Term of this
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Court. Your petitioner would respectfully
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;suggest that, as a petition has been presented
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;to this Court at its present Term, praying that
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Commifsioners be appointed to let apart the
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;widows dower in the above described premises
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;the same persons who may be appointed Com
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;mifsioners to award dower, may be appointed

&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The grand jurors chosen selected and sworn in and for the County of Sangamon in the name and by the authority of the people of the State of Illinois whom their oaths present that Jonas Houston, Charles Smith and George W Corc on the eighth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five at the county aforesaid one Bay Horse of the value of fifty dollars of the goods and chattels of one Ebeneser Johnson then and there being found feloniously did steal take cary and ride away contrary to the form of the Statute in such care made and provided and against the peace and dignity of the same people of the State of Illinois.

Turpin on the sixth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty six at the County aforesaid wickedly and maliciously contriving and intending unjustly  to aggrieve one Moses O Bledsoe and him the said Moses O Bledsoe to put to great expense, and also to cause to be continued until the next Term a certain action on the case then and there pending in the Circuit Court for Green County and the State of Illinois for Slander wherein Moses O Bledsoe was plaintiff and the said Benjamin F Turpin was defendant came in his proper person before one John W Scott then being one of Justices of the peace for and within the County of Green aforesaid, and then and there produced a certain affidavit in writing of him the said Benjamin F Turpin, and then and there before the said John W Scott a Justice of the Peace as aforesaid, in due form of Law was sworn, and took, his corporal oath upon the Holy Gospel of God concerning the truth of the matters contained in the said affidavit (he the said John W Scott a Justice of the peace as aforesaid then and there having lawful and competent power and authority to administer the  said oath to the said Benjamin F Turpin in that behalf); and the said Benjamin F Turpin so sworn as aforesaid not having the fear of God before his eyes, but being moved and seduced  by the instigation of the Devil then and there upon his oath aforesaid, before the said John W Scott a Justice of the

&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;your Petitioner was legally married to Samuel
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Musick since Deceased, That after their
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;said mariage Your Petitioner and the
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;said Samuel Musick lived together as
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Man and Wife, in the County of Sangamon,
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;until the Death of the said Samuel
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;which happened on the 28th Day of May,
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;in the Year of our Lord One Thousand
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;eight Hundred and Thirty Six. Your Pe
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;titioner would further state that the said
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Samuel Musick, husband of this Petitioner
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;as aforesaid, at the time of his death
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;was seized of and pofsefsed and had
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;title in Fee Simple, to the following lands
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;and tenements lying in the County of

&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;diah Sturdevant and Cynthia his wife
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;John Sturdevant and Nelly his wife Robert
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Kelso and Jane his wife, of Tazewell County
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;John Bridges &amp;amp; Polly his wife of Sangamon 
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;County, and Grant Musick Lewis Musick
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;and Eliza Musick of Sangamon the three
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;last being Minors. Your petitioner prays
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;that the above named Heirs may be made
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Defendants to this Bill and that they may
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;be required to answer on oath all and
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;singular the allegations of this Bill
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Your Petitioner would further state that
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;the "homestead" or "dwelling house" of her
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;said Husband Samuel Musick Deceased
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;was situated on the South West Fourth
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;of the South West Quarter of Section Five,
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Township Nineteen North of Range four West
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;above named. Your Petitioner would further
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;State that notwithstanding her husband has
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;been long since dead as aforesaid, and
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;died seized of the Lands aforesaid
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Yet her Dower, as the widow of the said
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Samuel Musick in and to said lands has
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;not as yet been set apart to her;
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;In Tender consideration of all which
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Premises, Your Petitioner prays that her Dower
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;in and by a Decree of Your Honorable
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Court may be set apart to her &amp;amp; to the lands
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;described as aforesaid. And that Commifs
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;sioners may be appointed according to the

&lt;p&gt;John Bridges &amp;amp; Polly his wife of Sangamon&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;County, and Grant Musick Lewis Musick&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;and Eliza Musick of Sangamon the three&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;last being Minors. Your petitioner prays&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;that the above named Heirs may be made&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Defendants to this Bill and that they may&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;be required to answer on oath all and&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;singular the allegations of this Bill&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Your Petitioner would further state that&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;the "homestead" or "dwelling house" of her&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;said Husband Samuel Musick Deceased&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;was situated on the South West Fourth&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;of the South West Quarter of Section Five,&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Township Nineteen North of Range four West&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;above named. Your Petitioner would further&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;State that notwithstanding her husband has&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;been long since dead as aforesaid, and&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;died seized of the Lands aforesaid&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Yet her Dower, as the widow of the said&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Samuel Musick in and to said lands has&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;not as yet been set apart to her;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;In Tender consideration of all which&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Premises, Your Petitioner prays that her Dower&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;in and by a Decree of Your Honorable&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Court may be set apart to her &amp;amp; to the lands&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
