DrSr,

You are no doubt already aware of the fact, that we have not, in this State, enough Artillery to equip one half of our companies, and that we have more artillerists than the state can dispose of. Permit me then, to say to you, inview of these facts, that if in any thing my services or experience as a Light Artillerist, can be made useful to you or to the people ofIllinois, I desire you to command me, and I shall feel honored to obey.
