Dr Sir,

It has been intimated to me that Hon T. L. Dickey, of Ottawa, would be inclined to accept the appointment of Colonel of the new Regiment of Cavalry about to be raised in this state. If affords me great pleasure to say, that I think that would be an appointment "fit to be made." It would give me great pleasure

to see it done, and I have no doubt it would be received with satisfaction, by the great body of the people in this section. I think he would make an excellent officer.
