Dear Gov Yates:

I should intrude upon your time in this third instance falteringly did I not know you to be the Soldier's true friend.

My brother Milligan in whose behalf I wrote you failed to receive the letters I addressed to him at Quincy -

The head Surgeon in that hospital moved not discharge him believing him capable of entering one of the Invalid Companies -.

My brother then obtained a furlough and very [gailily?] refound his company stationed at Loudon, Tenn. The Surgeon of the regiment pronounced him unfit

for active duty. What shall I do for this boy brother of mine? Dear Sir, do you think it would be of use to send the enclosed petition to Sec. Stanton? If so, and if you favor the appeal, will you have the kindness to enclose it to him, thus giving it a significance which my own little signature never would effect -

I am, dear Sir,

Respectfully & Gratefully Yours

Tempa C. Reed.

Cleveland, Ohio.
