Madam:
I am directed by His Excellency Govr Yates to acknowledge receipt of your letter of 4th inst. and to state application for discharge of your husband has been made to the Medical Officer at New Albany Inda Further, that the only ground upon which discharge can be effected is that of physical disability to discharge duties of a soldier - and that if your husband will pass such an Examination there is a reasonable ground to presume that the application made will be effectual
