I have been looking and expecting for some time to hear from you as to whether there would be any chance for an appointment, as yet I am not posted. I would still be your Excellencies Humble Servant if you could arrange it to give me something that was respectable I see in the Papers that you are going to, or have created a Commission to look after the interest of the Illinois Volunteers. Perhaps I might fill the Bill. if you think so I would be glad of an appointment. let me hear from you as soon as Possible if you please
