County Clerk's Office,

Henderson County, Illinois.

Oquawka, Nov. 6th 1864.

Governor,

A number of our farmers are interested in obtaining a quantity of Osage Orange Seed, wish to send an agent to Red River to make some purchases. The agents name is Hugh Harrel. He is a good man, a genuine Unionist, and perfectly reliable.

He has no speculations in view, but goes simply as an agent of our farmers.

Will you be Kind Enough to write a letter of Endorsement for Mr Harrell and send it to me. By so doing you will render a material service to our farmers and greatly oblige

Yours Very Respectfully
