Excelency R. Yates

Dear Sir

I served in the war at its commencent. I served over a year and was mustered out of service. Being taken a Prisinor at Lexington Mo. I reenlisted as a Veteran and was Wounded at the Battle of Dallas Georgia and was Disabled so that I was unfit for service, and was Discharged Dec 14th. I served the last time 16 months and I thought that when I had served Faithly as long as I was fit that I was Entiled to the Bounty of a veteran. But when I was Discharged they did not pay me into $125.00 if that is right I have not anything more to say But I do not think

that it is right. I Being a Poor man and will not Be able to do anything for some time. I thought that I would ask your advice and if you would see that we had our Just Dues. Hoping that you will answer this I remain your most Obedient Servant
