A few of the friends of Genl John McAuthur (who is now here on furlough) have made arrangements to give that gallant officer a Dinner at the Briggs House in this City on Tuesday 18th Augt. inst at 8 oclock PM.
I am desired by the Committee having the matter in charge, to request the honor of your presence on that occasion.
