Dr Sir I hear nothing from Washington & Col. Dunlap is expecting to see you today and has promised to speak to you in my behalf for a chaplaincy in one of your new regiments I would say that if it would be necessary or advisable for me to visit the camp first I could come to Springfield if so advised. My wife would be glad to devote her energies to the sick and wounded if I would get the appointment. Hoping for a favorable report to my application I remain with great esteem. Your obt. servt. W.F. Nelson

His Ex'y Richard Yates
