Dear Sir:

In last weeks paper I noticed a general order conferring power to your Honour to Issue passes to Ills Soldiers at home on furlough to their regiments in the field

I belong to Capt Turneys Co H 41st Regiment Illinois Vol Malitia am a Corporal was wounded at Battle of Pittsburg Landing & furloughed home. Am now about well & wish to return. I have drawn no pay for last three months & have no money to take me back.
