The bearer Samuel McCreary Esqr comes to Springfield with the view of ascertaining whether he can make any arrangement for entering the service in some other capacity than that of a private soldier We are not advised of the particular place to which aspires but from a long & intimate acquaintance with him, we are well satisfied that he capable of filling any place that may be assigned him & which he would accept in a manner creditable alike to himself & the service - yours &
