I take pleasure in joining with the Col Commdg in recommending to your notice for promotion Sergt Norton W Campbell now on recruiting Service with Lieut Magner at Paris Illinois,, He has been a member of my Company since Apr 26th 1861 Was present at the Battles of Fort Henry,, Donelson and Shiloh and in Command of the Company while making the approach to Corinth,, Is a brave deserving soldier and worthy of promotion
