I have just heard from Mr Tobes that he was sick and had been shot by a stray bullet while target shooting, the wound was not reported dangerous, but was suffering severely from lung disease he has not spoken a loud word since he left Cairo, I wish very much to go and see him, could you give me a Pass, to Memphis and return, our circumstances compell me to make this request of you, pleas excuse
