His Excellency Gov. Yates

Sir: Leuit George Chandler of Company A. 88th Regiment Ills. Volunteers desires to resign, because of general inability to endure much longer the hardships of the service, although not entitled to discharge on account of disability, but more particularly to accommodate me in important business transactions. It will confer a favor on me, if you can request Gen. Rosecrans to accept his resignation if not prejudicial to the public service.
