Just my luck now that I truly "I am laughed at". But it is not so. Bless you Is it; I would come over to B- if I thought I could see----you. so I could talk to you without reserve.

But I am afraid you are not in the city now. And have sme doubts of your getting this. And I will be kept busy here for a week or two yet. But I will run the risk of not seeing you and come on as soon as I can.

Dearest Isabel. I can not write to you. I want to talk to you. I have just travelled over 600 miles----It is now 21/2 I am. I am tired and sick. Let that be an excuse for this miserably written letter. But let the style or manner of my letters be what it may. I love you, and I feel that in the fountain of my heart a seal is set to keep its waters [prime?] and bright for thee alone. God bless you. [For?] see ( to follow your wishes, not my own) I call myself your friend only good night [illegible] [illegible] JWB----

I have just returned from the mountains of Penn. God bless you, I was sure you had forgotten me. Or I had told my mother to forward all letters but she expecting my return every day, neglected to do so. But I have see them at last. Bless you, Only think----of the pleasure of have now in reading them.

Indeed, I thought you had forgotten me. And I had no idea how much I cared for you till the last week or so. Since my last to you I have been ever saying to myself.

God forever bless you Isabel, I will trouble you no more, if you say the word, but can never, never cease to think of you as something pure and sacred, A bright, and happy dream, from, which I have been awoke to sadness. You will I hope give my best wishes

and never-dieing friendship to Mrs D. Strange but there is something about that lady that from the very first I felt, I had known and respected all my life.

Remember, dear friend not to let anyone see my letters. I will come at once to Boston.

Never,---More, till I hear from you.

Wishing once more for every blessing to be yours

I am your friend

Forever

John

To His Excellence the President of U.S.A.

Hon Abraam Lincoln

Dear Sir

I trust you will be indulgent with us, for the sake of the Bible & of America, in attempting to teach you, now on the last score of human life, the Greek language & appoint you, while most busily engaged in America, an assistant Bibleman among the Greeks.

I was so deeply impressed with the beneficial influence of the "Pioneer Boy" that I could not rest till it was prepared for Greek readers.

The task was a grateful one inasmuch as it was at once Christian

& patriotic; on the one hand, it tells both parents & children of every class that the Bible is the safest guide to prosperity, while on the other, it gives proper information about America. Taking advantage of the text, I have added some foot-notes stasticals & exegetical of American character & institutions, not known in the East & have also added a Supplement wherein I give a brief & comprehensive account of the causes, the prospects & the conduct of the war as well as a discription of the state of the country at the outset, besides a summary of the principal events, accomplished under your administration

Its language is very simple that can be read by children & the price very low in order that even the poorest may purchase, as I most gratefully have given the labour.

A thousand lithographs were ordered to come from the States which came too late to be inserted in the copy I forward to your Excellency.

Please therefore accept a copy of the "Pioneer Boy" as a specimen of the Greek edition, It is accompanied with our prayers, the greatest gift & the only one a Bible man can offer for his country & its President, at times like these.

I remain yr. humble servant

Geo Constantine
