From what I can <hr /> see, I think that the appointment of Cleveland would give better satisfaction than any other person. Ward sent for me and I found him at home afflicted with the loss of a child who died last evening. But he is particularly anaious for Clevelands appointment. I can only say in regard to Cleveland he is a good mechanic and would make a capital Commissioner. Please let me hear from you soon I shall return to Joliet tonight.
