Dear Yates

Jack Miller} Why do you not answer my letters?

Have just returned from Galena where we had a large meeting. Also at Freeport. (illegible) was at both places. The Freeport people want you to speak at Freeport on the evening of the 5th Oct on your way to Galena & the Galena people suggested that you speak at Warren in Davis Co on the after-noon of the 6th & at Galena in the evening of the same day. Do so if you can, but do nothing to interfere with your appointment here on the 9th Oct as we are making arrangements for that day.

Are you expecting any thing of me after the 9th?

We will take it as a great favor if you will accept, and you can accomplish much good by so doing.

There are numbers of volunteers from this county, and, of course, all over the state, that were recruited into old regiments with the understanding that they were to be discharged with the balance of the regiments. We will take it as a great favor if you will accept, and you can accomplish much good by so doing.

There are numbers of volunteers from this county, and, of course, all over the state, that were recruited into old regiments with the understanding that they were to be discharged with the balance of the regiments. Can any thing be done to induce the War Department to discharge these men at the expiration of their supposed term of enlistment?

Can you not induce Col. Oakes

S. senator.-

Can you meet the people of Stark - as early in the campaign as possible - and bring out such a crowd as no other man can. and help us secure two Representatives who will help to send you to the Senate in the place of another "Dick" who now disgraces our State by occupying a seat there.- We have not heard from "Tom" since the Evacuation of Atlanta.- at last dates from him he was suffering with Diarrhea and was much reduced by it. but was trying to do his duty.- Let me
