Dear Sir:

Your kind favor of May 9 inst. is just received. Thanks for the assurance that you will send us something.

I will be personally responsible for the safe keeping and return of anything that you may lend us for exhibition.

Permit me to say that your encouraging response does honor to the name of "Governor Yates" - a name that will be forever linked with every enterprise pointing towards the restoration of our Union and the comfort of its gallant defenders.

Our Fair opens on the "21st of June" to continue one week or longer.
