Sir.

your Communication of the 2nd inst Came to hand yesterday. you state that in Order to Obtain a Commission in Colored Troops, it will be necessary for me to pass before the Board of Military Examiners.

You also Stated that if I desired to go before the Board a permit would be procured for me immediately. I Desire to try it. There is nothing like trying
